Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra gets improvement to the camera with the Software Update

After few months of the Galaxy S21 series launch, Samsung is adding some offers for the customers buying the S21 series. Since the sales of the Galaxy S21 Series is not that great, the company added a new offer so that customers will look at the product. Here in this post, we will have a look at the specs, features, official price, offers of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Overview:

Samsung Galaxy flaunts a quad-camera setup on the back. The setup is led by a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 primary sensor. It has 0.8μm pixels, PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS. There is a 10MP periscope telephoto with support for 10x Optical Zoom. It also supports OIS and dual-pixel PDAF. For ultrawide shots, Samsung has provided a 12MP ultrawide angle lens that supports Super Steady video. At last, there is a standard 3x telephoto lens with OIS.

In the front, it has a 40MP wide lens with an aperture of f/2.2. It is capable of recording 4k@30/60fps and 1080p@30fps. Also, it supports dual video calling and Auto-HDR. This is one of the best cameras on any smartphone. However, iPhone is still best at video recording.

Samsung has recently released a new software update for this device which bumps up the Android security patch level to May 1, 2021. It also brings some improvement to the camera and enhances the Quick Share feature.

Design and Built Quality

Taking about the design, it has a bold striking counter-cut body. On the back, it has a matte finish and it looks really nice and fell premium on the hand. It has an aluminum frame but I was hoping for a stainless steel frame. Galaxy S21 Ultra’s back is protected by gorilla glass Victus. It got a rectangular camera module at the back with a counter-cut that holds quad cameras.

In the front, it has slightly curved edges. It has a small punch hole cutout at the top center which holds a 40MP selfie camera. It has minimal bezels and has well-placed buttons. This device is IP-68 certified up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. If we see its competitor like iPhone 12 Pro Max then they have a better rating.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a huge 6.82-inches 1440p Dynamic AMOLED panel. This panel has a refresh rate of 120Hz and finally, we can use 120Hz and QHD resolution at the same time. It got a peak brightness of 1500 nits which means this display is super bright. It also has ~515 PPI density and ~89.8% screen-to-body ratio. This is also HDR 10+ certified.

Although it has a 120Hz panel, it switches between 10Hz and 120Hz depending upon the task you are doing and this is possible because of LTPO technology. This display also supports S-pen but we don’t get S-Pen with the device and there is no housing for S-pen in the device. You have to buy a case to hold S-pen with your phone.

Performance & Memory

If you remember, last year’s Galaxy S20 series was controversial for its Exynos 990 chipset. But this time Samsung did a great comeback with the new Exynos 2100 chipset. This chipset and Snapdragon 888 have similar architecture and both chipsets were manufactured by Samsung. However, in the market like China, Korea, and the USA it comes with a Snapdragon 888 chipset.

Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core scores of Exynos 2100 got a huge margin over Exynos 990. Galaxy S20 Ultra has 12/16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256/512GB of fast UFS 3.1 based storage. But 16GB RAM is only available with a 512GB storage variant.

Both Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 have integrated 5G modems. We can enjoy 5G connectivity with every Galaxy S21 device. Unfortunately, here in Nepal, we have no access to the 5G network.

Battery and Other Specs

Fueling the handset is a huge 5000mAh battery like the previous year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra. It supports 25W fast wired charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W Wireless power-sharing. This 25W charger can charge your phone from 0-100% in around 1 hour. With an improved chipset, this device can easily provide a day battery backup.

The phone has a ultrasonic under display fingerprint which is a not a new thing in Samsung flagship devices. It features 5G, 4G LTE, (dual-band) Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, Radio, USB Type-C 2.0 port, and stereo speakers setup.
