Display and Design
The Samsung Galaxy A52 comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz which is a huge upgrade from its predecessor. However, there is no variable refresh rate mechanism with this device. Moreover, the panel has 800 nits of maximum brightness, 405-PPI density, and protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The center-aligned punch-hole cutout on the front house a selfie camera. It measure 159.9 x 75.1 x 8.4mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 189g. The rear design is identical to Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72. There is a rectangular camera module housing a quad-camera system and a LED flash. Further, it is IP67 water and dust-resistant.
Camera
The phone flaunts a quad-camera setup on the back with a 64MP primary sensor. It has an aperture of f/1.8 and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). There is a 12MP ultrawide lens that has an aperture of f/2.2 and a 123-degree field of view. Completing the setup by two 5MP macro and depth sensors are used for macro and portrait shots.
On the front, it has a 32MP selfie shooter which has an aperture of f/2.2. The phone can record 4K@30fps and 1080p@30/120fps from the rear camera. From the front, it can also record 4k@30fps but 1080p only at 30fps. It means you cannot take slow-motion video from the front-facing camera at 1080p resolution.
Thanks to new update which allow you to add blur effect during video chat using different third parties application such as Zoom, Google Duo, and Microsoft Team. Also, the updates have improved the performance of the stock camera application.
Performance, Memory & Software
Taking about the performance, Snapdragon 720G chipset powers the device. It has 2x 2.3GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6x 1.8GHz Kryo 465 Silver CPU and Adreno 618 as GPU. To be honest, it can perform really better than last year’s Galaxy A51.
The phone comes with 4,6, 8GB of fast LPDDR4x RAM which we often see in such price range. The 4GB and 6GB are only available with 128GBof internal storage whereas 8GB can go up to 256GB of internal storage. If you need more storage then you can also expand the storage up to 1TB using a microSD card but uses a SIM slot.
It runs on Android 11 with OneUI 3.1 out of the box. Now, the security patch has been updated to June with new update.
Battery & Other Specs
The Galaxy A52 has a 4500mAh battery that supports 25W of fast wired charging. For the remainder, only a 15W charger is included in the box. If you buy a 25W charger, then you can fully charge the battery up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
Coming to connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is available in four color options: Awesome- Black, Blue, Violet, and White
