Display & Design

Let’s start with the display, the Meizu 18 Pro sports a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED panel. It has a 2K resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels which results in a 20:9 aspect ratio. With a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, the display feels super smooth. The pane is HDR 10+ certified and has 1300 nits of maximum brightness and ~526-PPI density. There is a center-aligned punch-hole cut out at the front for the selfie camera. Bezels and chin are minimal which helps to achieve ~90.7% screen to body ratio. Moreover, the display has quad-curved edges.

It measure 162.5 x 73 x 8.1 mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 189g. There is a rectangular camera bump at the back of the back. The camera bump holds quad cameras and a LED flash. It has a Type-C port and stereo speakers. Like other flagship phones, it also lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Camera

The phone comes with four-camera sensors at the back. The setup is led by a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor with an aperture of f/1.9 and OIS. It is accompanied by a 32MP Sony IMX616 ultrawide sensor with an aperture of f/2.2. It has a wide 130-degree field of view and focusing from 2cm for macro shots. The setup is completed by an 8MP 3x telephoto lens with OIS and a 3D ToF sensor.

On the front, it has a 44MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.4. The phone can record 8K, 4K@30/60fps, 1080P from the rear, and 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps from the front camera.

Performance and Memory

The Meizu 18 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 888 5G chipset based on 5nm process technology. It has 1×2.84 GHz, 3×2.42, and 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 680 cores. Graphics are handled by Adreno 660 GPU.

It is available in two RAM options: 8GB & 12GB. The 8GB RAM is paired with 128GB and 256 GB of internal storage while the 12GB RAM is coupled with 256GB of internal storage. There is no physical option to expand the storage.

Coming to the battery, the phone features a 4,500mAh battery. It supports 40W of fast wired & wireless charging and 10W of reverse wireless charging. The company claims that the 40W charger can charge the phone from 0-40% in 15 minutes and 0-100% in just 50 minutes.

The device supports Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/6e, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC. It runs on Android 11 with Flyme 9. The phone is available in three color options: Blue, Grey, and White.
