Finally, Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi MIX 4 in China. It is the first phone from Xiaomi to come with an under-display camera. Let’s have a look at the specifications, features, availability, and expected price of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 in Nepal.

Display and Design

Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a Full HD resolution. It is a 10-bit panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display is HDR10+ certified and has a contract ratio of 5000000:1. Moreover, the brightness can goes up to 800 nits during High Brightness Mode (HBM) and it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

As I mentioned earlier, Mi MIX 4 feature an under-display camera (or camera under panel as per Xiaomi). Xiaomi has used a flexible display and redesigned circuit array to hide the camera and provide plenty of light to the under-display camera.

The handset has a big rectangular camera bump on the back. It consists of triple rear-facing cameras and a LED flash. Furthermore, it is available in three different color options: Ceramic Black, Ceramic Silver, and Shadow Green Gray.

Camera

Taking about the cameras, there is a 108MP ISOCELL HMX main camera leading the triple camera setup. It comes with a 1/1.33-inch sensor and OIS. It is accompanied by an 8MP Periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and it also has OIS. At last, there is a 13MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view.

Upfront, it has a 20MP selfie camera under the display. Talking about the video, you can record 8K@24fps, 4k@30/60fps, and 1080p@30/60/120/480fps from the rear camera. Also, it has the ability to record HDR10+ videos from the rear camera. The front camera can only record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Xiaomi has provided the latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset based on the 5nm process. The chipset features an eight-core CPU with 3GHz of maximum frequency. Handling the graphics is Adreno 660 GPU.

The phone comes with 8GB or 12GB of fast LPDDR5x RAM. It is paired with 128/256/512GB of UFS 3.1 based internal storage. On the software front, it ships with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box.

Fueling the phone is a decent 4500mAh battery. It supports 120W fast charging and Xiaomi claims it can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes. It also supports 50W fast charging and it takes 28 minutes to fully charge the battery.

The device has an ultra-wideband (UWB) for precise positioning of data and device controls. It also has Harmon/Kardon branded stereo speakers setup. Furthermore, it features, 5G, (2.4/5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, IR Blaster, Type-C 2.0 port, and Optical Under Display Fingerprint Sensor.
