Vivo has quietly launched its latest budget phone in India – the Vivo Y21e. However, it is the rebranded Vivo Y21T launched a bit earlier. Like other Vivo’s budget smartphones, it also has a good design but compromises a lot in the specification. Display and Design
Here, Vivo Y21e comes with a 6.51-inch IPS LCD panel. It has an HD+ resolution and only supports a 60Hz refresh rate which is a little wired in a budget phone these days. Similarly, it features a waterdrop notch at the top that houses a selfie snapper.
As I mentioned earlier, the handset has a similar design to Vivo Y33s. It has a rectangular camera module at the back that houses its cameras and a LED flash. Likewise, you get a “Vivo” branding at the bottom left corner. Moreover, it is available in two different color options: Midnight Blue and Pearl White.
Camera
Nothing is interesting on the camera setup. It has a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It lacks an ultrawide lens which we get on every budget phone except budget phones from Vivo.
Completing the setup is a pair of 2MP macro and depth cameras for macro and portrait shots. Similarly, there is an 8MP selfie snapper inside the waterdrop notch.
Performance and Memory
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 680 4G chipset based on 6nm technology. It is a recently launched chipset that is featured on Vivo Y32. The chipset has an octa-core CPU with 2.4Ghz of peak frequency and Adreno 610 GPU.
Here, Vivo has decreased the RAM and storage capacity. The handset comes with 3GB of RAM with 500MB of virtual RAM. It is paired with 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 1TB using a MicroSD card.

Fueling the Vivo Y21e is a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W charging via a Type-C port. On the software front, it runs on Android 11 with Funtouch OS 12 on top.
