Vivo X60 and X60 Pro launched in India with 120Hz display, Exynos 1080 chipset

After lots of leaks and teasers, Vivo finally launched their X60 series in India. In the X60 series, Vivo launched two phones which are names Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro. These are the first smartphones that are powered by Samsung Exynos 1080 which is a 5nm-based chipset. Currently Vivo X60 series is available within China but Vivo Nepal will launch it soon in Nepal. Here is the quick overview, availability, and expected price of the Vivo X60 Series in Nepal.

Overview

Camera

If you remember then last year Vivo X50 series was introduced with Gimbal-like stabilization but can’t make much impact on customers. Now, on the X60 series Vivo partnered with Zeiss for the camera on the X60 series. Vivo X60 series comes with a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor as a primary lens but there is a twist in the aperture between pro and normal variant. The Pro model got an aperture of f/1.48 while the normal model got an aperture of f/1.79. Both primary lenses support OIS and also improved motor for gimbal-life effect. The second lens is a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. And the third lens is a 13MP telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom. Vivo X60 got a triple camera at the back while Vivo X60 Pro got an additional 8MP periscope lens (OIS) which supports 5x optical zoom. Although the camera setup looks good on the paper, they can only shoot 4K@30 fps and 1080P@30fps.

In the front it got 32MP lens with f2.5 which can shoot videos at only 1080p@30fps.

Design and Built Quality

Vivo X60 and X60 pro are good-looking and also thin phones. Vivo X60 is even thinner than iPhone 12 Mini. Both devices come with a glossy back and aluminum frame. There is a rectangular camera cut-out at the back and the camera bump is also there.

On the front there is a punch-hole cut out for the selfie camera. There are not curved edges and the bezels are minimal. The optical fingerprint sensor is there for security. Unfortunately, like other flagship phones, there is no 3.5mm audio jack.

Performance

As we mentioned earlier, Vivo X60 and X60 pro are the first to introduce Samsung’s Exynos 1080 chipset. This Soc is based on 5nm technology and we will see lots of upper midrange phones featuring this processor in 2021. Exynos 1080 consists of four Cortex A78 and four Cortex A55 cores. The graphics are handled by Mali-G78 GPU. Like snapdragon 888, Exynos 1080 also has an integrated modem for a 5G connection.

Talking about the memory, Vivo X60 comes with 8GB of RAM which is coupled with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 based storage. On the other hand, the Vivo X60 pro comes with only one storage variant of 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The overall performance of these phones are decent but not quite good as iPhone 12 series performance.

5G Connectivity

Since Exynos 1080 got integrated modem for 5G connectivity, Vivo X60 series is also 5G enabled.

Battery & Charging

Vivo X60 Pro features a 4,200 mAh battery while Vivo X60 features a slightly bigger 4,300mAh battery. Both phones support 33W of fast wired charging but there is no wireless charging and wireless power-sharing available.
