Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max in Nepal
So, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra cost almost 2 Lakhs in Nepal. It is just a few thousand less than Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro Max. The rivalry between Samsung and Apple’s top-tier flagships has always been very interesting and always comes down to user preference.
Now, things have changed a bit. With we price of Samsung’s flagship, will a customer looking for a flagship smartphone in Nepal will go for iPhone 14 Pro Max? My simple answer is yes.
This new Galaxy S23 Ultra does not have any significant upgrades over the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It brings upgrades in just the primary rear camera and performance. The rest of the things like design, battery, and display are identical to their predecessor.
One thing that has changed a lot is the price. If you remember, the launch price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra in Nepal was just NPR 159,999 for the 12/256GB variant (now the price is hiked to NPR 179,999). Now, you have to pay NPR 191,999 for the same 12/256GB model of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max is available in Nepal at NPR 198,890 for the 128GB variant. If I am looking for a flagship smartphone then I will add some money and go for the iPhone 14 Pro Max over Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Samsung has claimed they have significantly improved the videography on the S23 Ultra but I still doubt it can compete with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Also, the display of the 14 Pro Max is brighter than the S22 Ultra (2000 nits vs 1750 nits). Other things like battery life and performance can be found better on the 14 Pro Max. Also, iPhones are considered a status symbol in Nepal (that doesn’t mean you have to purchase iPhone).
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra also has some advantages. It features a 10X periscope lens, a high-resolution camera, and S-pen. Most importantly, it is more affordable than iPhone 14 Pro Max.
So, it comes down to you whether you prefer Samsung or Apple. With the high reseller value of Apple products, I suggest you go with iPhone 14 Pro Max.
