Performance and Memory

The Oneplus 9R is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. It is a slightly upgraded version of Snapdragon 865/865+ with Cortex A77 clocked at 3.2GHz. Adreno 650GPU handles the graphics which is clocked at 670MHz.

The device comes with two storage variants: 8/128GB and 12/256GB. To improve the gaming experience, the company included the Vapor Cooling system with the device. It also has Pro Gaming mode, awesome haptics, and dual-stereo speakers.

Display and Design

The phone has a 6.55-inches Full HD+ Fluid AMOLED panel. It has support to 120Hz refresh rate but it is not adaptive as we saw with the Oneplus 9 Pro. We are getting 240Hz of touch sampling rate even while using all 5 fingers at the same time. There is a left-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. Also, it has quite minimal bezels and chin.

It measure 161 x 74.1 x 8.4mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 189g. The panel is made of polycarbonate instead of glass but got a matte finish. It is available in two color options: Carbon Black and Lake Blue.

Camera

Although the Oneplus 9 and 9 Pro features a Hasselblad-branded camera, the Oneplus 9R doesn’t have that one. It has a 48MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and OIS. It is accompanied by a 16MP ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 123-degree field of view. In addition, there are 5MP macro and 2MP Black and White sensors.

On the front, it has a 16MP selfie shooter. Taking about the video quality, the Oneplus 9R can shoot 4K@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60/240fps from the rear camera while it can only record 1080p@30fps from the selfie camera.

Battery and Other Specs

The phone features a 4500mAh battery that supports 65W of fast wired charging. Fortunately, the charger is included in the box. According to the company, the 65W can charge the phone from 0 to 100 percent in just 39 minutes. OnePlus has recently rolled an update on the OnePlus 9R to find the battery drain problem.

Taking about the connectivity, the phone has support to Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.1.
