Nubia announced their latest gaming smartphone in China- the Red Magic 6R. Comparing it with Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro side by side, there are no huge changes. Nubia Red Magic 6R Overview
Display and Design
Here, Red Magic 6R flaunts a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD resolution. It supports an adaptive 144Hz refresh rate which allows the user to switch the refresh rate between 30/60/90/120/144Hz. To improve the response of display, the company has included a 400Hz single finger touch sampling rate and a 360Hz multi-touch sampling rate. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio and 770 nits of peak brightness. There is a tiny center-aligned punch-hole cutout that was missing on Red Magic 6.
As I mentioned earlier, the device is quite slim as compared with Nubia Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro. It has a 7.8mm thickness and weighs around 186.4g. There is a square bump that houses a quad-camera setup and a LED flash with 64MP branding. The phone is available in three different color options: Dark Blue, Silver, and Light Blue.
Camera
The Red Magic 6R has the exact same 64MP main sensor that was used in 6 and 6 Pro. It also matches an 8MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view. You get additional two lenses on the 6R, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The front camera has also improved. You get a 16MP selfie camera instead of an 8MP shooter. The rear camera can record 4k videos at 30/60fps and 1080p videos up to 240fps while the selfie camera is only capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

Performance and Memory
The nubia Red Magic is powered by a Snapdragon 888 5G chipset based on a 5nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with a clock speed up to 2.84Ghz. Graphics are handled by Adreno 660 GPU. It runs on Android 11 with Redmagic 4.0 UI on the top.
Users can choose between 6/8/12GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The RAM used here is LPDDR5 and the storage is UFS 3.1 based. It has shoulder triggers that are touch sensors instead of physical keys like in the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. For cooling, it comes with a multi-dimensional cooling system that includes graphene, VC liquid cooling, and thermal gel.

Fueling the phone is a decent 4200mAh battery that charges at up to 55W in China while the global variant supports only 30W charging. In collaboration with Tencent Games, nubia has released a limited edition in yellow color.
The handset features 5G, (dual-band) Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC (market dependent), and USB Type-C 3.0 port. Further, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, and optical under-display fingerprint sensor.
