Display and Design
Starting with the design, iQOO U5 comes with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD display. It still uses old fashioned waterdrop notch that houses a selfie camera. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
The handset sports a boxy design with a plastic body. It has a squarish camera module has “iQOO” branding at the bottom. Here, you get a 3.5mm headphone jack and loudspeaker (not stereo speakers). Furthermore, it is available in three different color options: Aurora, Gray, and White.
Camera
Unfortunately, the phone has a disappointing rear camera setup. It has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor having an f/1.8 aperture. The second lens is a 2MP macro camera.
Upfront, it has an 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/1.8. Likewise, you can only record up to 1080p videos at 30fps from both rear and front cameras.

Under the hood, iQOO U5 packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset. It is a budget 5G chipset that was also used in the recently launched Honor X30. The chipset features an eight-core CPU with 2.2Ghz of peak clock speed and Adreno 619 for graphics works. Moreover, you also get 5 layer liquid cooling in the device.
The phone is available in three different memory configurations: 4/128GB, 6/128GB, and 8/128GB. It also features a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. At last, it runs on the latest Android 12 with Origin OS Ocean on top.
