iQOO 8 goes official with Snapdragon 888, 120Hz display, and 120W Charging

After lots of leaks and rumors, iQOO has unveiled the iQOO 8 alongside its pro model in China. As Vivo promised during the announcement of the Snapdragon 888+ chipset, iQOO 8 Pro packs the latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset but the vanilla model has regular SD 888 SoC. Let’s have a look at the specifications, features, availability, and expected price of the iQOO 8 in Nepal.

iQOO 8 Overview:

Display and Design

Starting with the display, iQOO 8 flaunts a 6.56-inch flat AMOLED display. It has an FHD+ resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR contents, 1.07 billion colors, and the P3 color gamut. Moreover, it has a center-aligned punch-hole cutout that houses a front-facing camera.

Here, the phone has a similar camera bump to the Vivo X60 series but the camera arrangement is different. It has a color-changing back panel just like Vivo S10 Pro. Moreover, you can three different color options: Black, Orange, and White.

Similarly, there is a triple camera setup on the back. The setup is led by a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide angle lens. Completing the setup is a 13MP portrait lens.

Upfront, it has a 16MP selfie camera inside the punch hole cutout. The rear camera can record up to 4K videos while the selfie camera is capable of recording 1080p videos only.

Performance and Memory

Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 888 chipset. It is a 5nm-based chipset with an eight-core CPU having 2.84Ghz of maximum clock speed. Graphics are handled by Adreno 660 GPU. Moreover, iQOO has provided different features for enhancing the gaming experience.

The handset is available in two storage configurations: 8/128GB and 12/256GB. Just like other flagships, it also lacks a MicroSD card slot. On the software front, it runs on Origin OS 1.0 on top of Android 11.

Fueling the handset is a 4350mAh battery. It can be fully charged in just 18 minutes using a 120W wired charger via a Type-C port. The phone features a stereo speaker setup and lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. Further, it has support for 5G, (dual-band) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and NFC.

iQOO 8 first sale will start on August 24. It is priced at CNY 3,799 for the 8/128GB model while the 12/256GB model costs you CNY 4,199. We expect the iQOO 8 to start at around NPR 75,999 if it launches in Nepal.
