Display and Design
Google Pixel 5a 5G brings a similar display to the Pixel 4a. It has a slightly larger 6.34-inch OLED display with a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner. The panel has a Full HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.
Moving on, it also has an identical design to Pixel 4a. However, Google has included IP67 certification for water and dust resistance which is a plus point of this phone. It has the same rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, its body is made up of aluminum with only one color option of Mostly Black.
Camera
The camera has been a highlighting feature of every Google smartphone. Here, Google Pixel 5a 5G packs an identical camera setup to its predecessor. It has a 12.2MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 accompanied by a 16MP ultrawide lens with a 118.7-degree field of view.
Similarly, there is an 8MP selfie snapper with an aperture of f/2.0 under the punch hole cutout. You can record up to 4K@60fps from the rear camera whereas the front camera can only record 1080p videos at 30fps.
Performance, Memory & Software
Under the hood, the handset packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset based on a 7nm process. It is an old chipset that we have already seen in the original OnePlus Nord. The chipset feature eight Kryo 475 cores with a 2.4Ghz of peak frequency. Handling the graphics is Adreno 620 GPU.
The device is available with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. It runs on the stock version of Android 11. Moreover, Google has promised 3 years of OS and security updates.

Backing the phone is a 4680mAh battery which is a noticeable upgrade from Pixel 4a’s 3885mAh battery. However, it also lacks wireless charging and charges via a Type-C port at 18W speed. Furthermore, it has support for 5G, (2.4/5Ghz), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and Google Cast.

Google Pixel 5a 5G is available for pre-order in the US and Japan from Google Store. It is priced at $449 in the US for the sole 6/128GB model. We are yet to see Pixel devices in Nepal. If Google somehow launches Pixel 5a 5G in Nepal, we expect it to start at around NPR 59,999 in Nepal.
