Display and Design

Here, Gionee M12 flaunts a 6.55-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD+ resolution. While other companies like Xiaomi and Samsung are providing FHD+ Super AMOLED panels in the same price category, Gionee has disappointed its fans with such a display. However, the company has provided a modern left-aligned punch-hole cutout for a selfie camera.

Moving on, you get a quad-camera setup on the back. The setup is led by a 48MP main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and PDAF. It is accompanied by a 5MP ultrawide lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 115-degree field of view. Again, a 5MP ultrawide lens is not impressive as compared with its competitors.

Completing the setup is a pair of 2MP macro and depth cameras for macro and portrait shots. Similarly, it has a 16MP selfie camera inside the punch-hole.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, Gionee M12 packs MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. Other smartphones in the same price category come with a G-series chipset which is way powerful than P22. Also, it runs on old Android 10.

However, Gionee has provided 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. You can also expand storage up to 256GB using a MicroSD card.
